Try to get the best out of this Ramadan.
- Read the entire Quran with translation (in your native language) – Make notes if you don’t understand anything. Reciting it in Arabic does have benefit but understanding the Quran and following it’s guidance is more beneficial than just reading it in Arabic without knowing a single word what Allah is saying.
- Listen to Beneficial Podcasts, Tafseer, Islamic lectures and Reminders. Internet is filled with productive content to learn the basics of Quran and Religion from the scratch. Take one step at a time, don’t overwhelm yourself with excessive content otherwise you will lose interest after few days.
- Start with 2 extra nawaafil (voluntary unit of Salah) every night – an hour or two before Fajar. Experience the peace and spiritual tranquility in those silent hours. Talk to Allah about everything esp. your shortcomings and worries.
- Beautify your Salah by remembering short surahs with translation and its meaning.
- Do lot’s of Azkaar (remembering Allah) knowing their actual meaning e.g. (Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, Laa ilaaha ilallaah, AllahuAkbar, La hawla wa La Quyyata illah Billah)
- Seek forgiveness from Allah, accept and repent for your sins. Recite Astaghfirullah from your heart, not just tongue.
- Recite darood shareef abundantly (Sending peace and blessings to Prophet Muhammad (S))
- Make lots of Duas for your worldly life and hereafter. Make a list of all the Duas so you don’t forget. Make Dua every moment before aftaar, at sahoor, during the late night prayer or after every obligatory salah
Utilize this time wisely!
